May Day Celebration (St. Mary's City, MD)

  • Historic St. Mary's City 18751 Hogaboom Lane St. Mary's City, MD United States (map)

10am-4pm
Celebrate the arrival of spring — colonial-style!  In Historic St Mary's City, it's the 17th century: Maryland has recently been discovered. There are restored buildings, unrestored buildings, and even living history experiences where the townspeople and farmers need your help to live their 17th century lives.

Take part in a Maypole dance, play games, dance with the Morris dancers, visit the old shops and buildings, visit with local artisans, and make your own colonial spring artworks to take home, including the popular flower garland from the local color in Historic St. Mary's City's own gardens.

This delightful day allows you to enjoy the full benefits of the new spring season on the beautiful waterfront and farm. Enjoy learning about Maryland's early history at the award-winning archeology museum and sites.

Silhouettes By Hand will be set up near the popular garland-making station (weather permitting), in the gazebo.
