Bring the whole family out to welcome spring at this annual event! Held each year on the first Saturday in May, Pottsgrove Manor's Annual Colonial May Fair is a local tradition. Visitors can come back year after year and see something new and different at each year's fair. Guests can enjoy a variety of 18th century entertainments, including magic shows, music, puppet theater, and the traditional dance around the colorful Maypole. There are games, contests, and activities for young visitors. Early American crafters give demonstrations of historic trades and sell their wares, and food vendors offer tasty treats. Silhouettes By Hand will be a featured artisan, cutting silhouettes for interested people and weaving tidbits of history into the experience. Come feel like you are stepping back into the 18th century with your own Colonial era portrait, made in moments - ready to take home.

In additional informal presentations on the history of silhouettes will take place in the "silhouette room" . Learn about the history of this 'people's portrait' form.

Pottsgrove Manor exemplifies the restrained elegance of early Georgian architecture popular with wealthy English gentry during the mid-18th century. ... As a successful ironmaster and merchant, John Potts, was appointed Justice of the Peace and Judge on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. He was elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly from both Berks and Philadelphia Counties.

Although only four acres of original property remain today, Pottsgrove Manor has lost none of its original charm and architectural beauty. The mansion has been restored to recreate the lifestyle and times of the Potts family. Pottsgrove Manor is open year-round for guided tours, as well as public programs, school tours, lectures, and workshops. A museum shop on site offers a fine selection of 18th century reproduction items, books, toys, and more.
