Morristown, NJ throws its 250th gala event - the Patriots Ball honoring George Washington, sponsored by Morris County 250th Committee and the Morris County Tourism Bureau! Dance the night away and celebrate at the Ford Mansion in Morristown, General George Washington's headquarters from December 1779 to June 1780 during the American Revolutionary War.
Lauren Muney from Silhouettes by Hand will be cutting silhouettes freehand with only scissors, helping celebrating people experience the historic portrait form, silhouettes, which was taking Europe by storm in the 1770s, soon to arrive on the shores on the new United States.

Held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 5:30–9:30 PM at Morristown National Historical Park, the event takes place at one of the most significant sites of the American Revolution. Morristown served as General Washington’s military headquarters and winter encampment, where critical decisions were made that shaped the outcome of the war and the future of the nation—making it a powerful and fitting setting for this historic celebration.
The evening’s centerpiece will be the exclusive display of a replica of George Washington’s Inaugural Ball suit, offering guests a rare and meaningful connection to the founding of the United States. Guests will enjoy a refined dinner experience, period music and dancing, a live performance by the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey, historical reenactors, and remarks from distinguished sponsors and partners.
